Markit Names Johns Hopkins–Trained AI Researcher and Theoretical Biophysicist Dr. Ifunanya Nwogbaga to Advisory Board
Columbus, Ohio — [April 6, 2026] — Markit, a consumer infrastructure platform built for real-world engagement, today announced that Dr. Ifunanya Nwogbaga has been named to the company’s Advisory Board.
Dr. Nwogbaga is an artificial intelligence researcher and theoretical biophysicist whose work spans large language model evaluation, statistical modeling, and complex systems analysis. His experience developing benchmarking frameworks and evaluation datasets for advanced AI systems will support Markit’s continued investment in data and infrastructure as the platform scales.
Most recently, Dr. Nwogbaga has contributed to AI model evaluation initiatives through work with Mercor Intelligence, Outlier AI, and Alignerr, where he designed evaluation datasets and benchmarking tasks used to test reasoning, multimodal understanding, and tool-use capabilities in large language models.
Prior to his work in AI, Dr. Nwogbaga served as a Research Staff Member at the Institute for Defense Analyses, where he supported Department of Defense programs by building statistical modeling workflows and analyzing performance data for next-generation radar systems. His work included developing reproducible methodologies for evaluating system effectiveness and delivering technical briefings to senior defense leadership.
Dr. Nwogbaga earned his PhD in Biophysics from Johns Hopkins University and holds a B.S.E. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Princeton University, with additional concentrations in applied mathematics and computational modeling.
At Markit, Dr. Nwogbaga will advise on the development of the company’s data and AI systems as it expands its platform connecting digital engagement to measurable real-world outcomes.
“Markit is building systems that connect digital signals with real-world behavior,” said Dr. Nwogbaga. “That creates interesting opportunities for modeling and data science, and I’m excited to contribute to the company’s technical direction.”
“Ifunanya brings deep expertise in systems modeling and AI evaluation,” said John LaPolla, Founder and CEO of Markit. “As we continue to scale, his perspective will help ensure our platform remains grounded in rigorous data analysis and measurable outcomes.”
Markit enables businesses, enterprises, and organizations to deliver value only when real people show up, replacing traditional marketing and distribution models with measurable, outcome-driven systems.
